Ahmedabad, 25 June 2013
As soon as the programme of Uttarakhand visit of Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Narendra Modi was announced, the Uttarakhand Chief Minister told media that he would not permit the Chief Minister to land at any calamity-hit area, and his visit shall be limited to just an aerial survey.
Just before Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s visit to calamity-hit area, union Home Minister Shri Sushil Kumar Shinde told media persons that any Chief Minister would not be allowed to land in calamity-hit area, because bandobast during such visits hamper the rescue mission. Shri Shinde added that he himself didn’t land at any of the calamity-hit place.
After this, the Gujarat Chief Minister whose office had earlier announced landing at three places including Kedarnath, changed the plan and just did an aerial survey for four hours.
The chapter was over.
But today, Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi, who neither a Chief Minister nor Union Minister was allowed to do not only aerial survey but also to land!
Rahul Gandhi who was reportedly on London to celebrate his birthday, and later traveling in Europe surfaced yesterday in Delhi and was seen flagging off a convoy of trucks carrying relief material. Then he visited calamity-hit state after 11 days of disaster. Rahul was with full security and bandobast and plenty of news channels have aired visuals backing this fact. Rahul visited Gauchar and Guptkashi. There was no wonder that Rahul faced heat by people. Couple of TV channels showed how villagers verbally attacked Rahul.
When asked about double standards, Congress leader Digvijay Singh lied and told media persons that Rahul was visiting Uttarakhand by road. Again, number of news channels showed clearly that Rahul was traveling in chopper.
According to reports, Rahul was scheduled to travel to Badrinath and Kedarnath and land there, but he couldn’t do that due to bad weather. Modi was denied landing at same places.
Editor’s note
Rahul Gandhi is not natural leadership material. Congress President Sonia Gandhi is imposing her son on the party and on the nation. While party is always loyal to one family, the nation is altogether a different game. If Rahul was a natural leader, or if he had some kind of learning curve to become a leader, he could be back to India canceling his reported foreign visit, simply because he is projected as future Prime Minister of the country, by ruling party. Thanks to suspected well-managed mainstream media manipulation, this issue was limited to discussions on twitter and facebook only, but whenever some media person asked some Congress leader about Rahul’s absence, they were just clueless, and it was apparently embarrassing for them! We watched how Sheila Dixit reacted when asked about disappeared Gandhi! Rahul is not a natural leadership material is one fact, and Congress President’s wish to carve out a leader out of him using chisel and hammer is failing, and that’s another fact. Congress sees a future Prime Minister in Rahul Gandhi is one fact, but nation doesn’t see the same, is another fact.
