VARANASI:
Some former members of AAP and now the activists of Aam Aadmi Aandolan
(AAA) got their heads tonsured at Assi Ghat on Thursday accusing AAP
convener Arvind Kejriwal of befooling people.
"We are getting our heads shaved on the bank of holy Ganga in Kashi as a penance for having voted wrong person in Delhi to power. He cheated us and left us in lurch," said Lalit Razdan, one of them.
They said that AAA is a mission launched against corruption. The mission has been initiated by the former members of AAP who have been associated with the anti-corruption movement since the days of Anna's India Against Corruption movement.
The AAA activists said Kejriwal has befooled Delhi people by running away from his responsibilities. He resigned for his vested interest and was now trying to cheat the citizens of Varanasi, they alleged.
"What worries us more is the fact that after coming to Varanasi we came across some highly objectionable and irresponsible publicity material being distributed by Kejriwal.
This indicates that he is more interested in creating political and economical instability in the country," they alleged and added that in one of the pamphlets distributed by AAP, Kejriwal asked voters to give a fractured mandate so that the big guns loose. This will jolt the political system of the country with smaller parties fighting with each other and leading to another election within a year to elect a new and 'honest' government, they said.
